Video Diary

Gloucester Heritage URC has embarked on a Video Diary project to record the physical changes as they take place, capturing perceptions, thoughts and feelings of local people throughout the process and period of Regeneration in the City of Gloucester.

The Focus

Local schools, youth groups, other learning institutions and community groups can take this opportunity to record the physical changes and improvements to Gloucester’s built environment and public spaces as well as capturing opinions / attitudes and perceptions of local people before, during and on completion of individual regeneration project areas.

The Video Diary project provides opportunities for up-to 10 different groups of young people per year aged 16 -21 (not exclusively), to get involved in the city's redevelopment via film and media and could offer long term projects for students who wish to enter the world of creative arts and media.

Gloucester Heritage URC have commissioned Gloscat and Bluesky Event & Media (in partnership) as Managing Agent to deliver this exciting project, the result being the creation of a series of locally created DVD films that:

The City is changing and there is a buzz building amongst many young people as they begin to see new opportunities around them.  This is bound to increase when the new Gloscat building opens its doors to students in September and they start to recognise the benefits that city regeneration can bring in new facilities and a more attractive working and learning environment.

We want to harness that excitement and encourage discussion and debate.   This video diary will help everyone understand the regeneration programme and track the views of local people as it takes place. It will also form a central part of our annual Gloucester Renaissance event where the regeneration progress is presented to the local city community, and at our AGM.
