David Alderton, founder of the Pet Info Club, is a UK-based award winning writer specialising in pets and natural history topics. His books have sold over six million copies and have been translated into 30 different languages.
He has also chaired the National Council for Aviculture, the umbrella organisation for bird-keeping clubs and associations in the UK, is a member of the Kennel Club, editor of the monthly magazine Practical Reptile Keeping and he also participates frequently in radio and television programmes.
Originally trained to become a veterinary surgeon, David developed allergic dermatitis in his final year of study which forced a change of career, and so led him into the field of writing about pets and their care.
